Ashwarya Sharma is a seasoned tax and insolvency lawyer with over 11 years of extensive experience in Goods and Services Tax (GST), Indirect Tax, and Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code (IBC) matters. As a Co-Founder of RB LawCorp, he advises Indian and multinational companies on complex tax disputes, investigations, and regulatory challenges, with a distinct focus on matters where tax law intersects with insolvency, restructuring, and business continuity.

His practice spans a wide spectrum of high-stakes GST litigation and strategic advisory, encompassing DGGI investigations, complex refund litigations, and disputes relating to input tax credit, classification, valuation, and transitional credits, along with constitutional and jurisdictional challenges under the GST regime. Ashwarya regularly represents clients before Tribunals, various High Courts, and the Supreme Court of India, and appears across more than 10 High Courts and over 25 States—truly reflecting the pan-India breadth and depth of his practice.

A core area of Ashwarya’s expertise lies in advising resolution professionals, creditors, and corporate debtors on the treatment of statutory dues under the IBC. His work in this area includes filing and verification of tax claims, determination of priority of government dues, and advising on the binding effect of approved resolution plans on legacy indirect tax liabilities—an area of law that continues to evolve through judicial interpretation.

In addition, Ashwarya has significant experience in customs and trade-related GST matters, including IGST on imports, refund mechanisms, and cross-border supply structuring.
